We are in the midst of an arctic blast!! Austin is shivering in the teens with the wind chill factor hovering around 5 degrees. It's not going to get any better and may snow tomorrow!!As we drive through the neighborhoods we are seeing broken water pipes and water frozen in pools ready for ice skating! We are surprised at the number of homeowners who have not taken necessary caution to protect their home, pets, plants, pipes and themselves! There are rolling blackouts so be prepared!
We are seeing a run on hose bib covers for your exterior faucets so better call ahead to see if stores still have any in stock so you won't get caught again!
Make sure you drip your faucets in your sinks and tubs. Open cabinet doors to allow heat to get to the pipes under your sinks and appliances near exterior walls. Set the thermostat in your house no lower than 55 degrees. Disconnect garden hoses and think about your plants!!
