This video presents some fascinating material about the way in which Marketing is changing in response to the way Social Media connects individuals along the pathways of ideas, vision and interest. This is a serious assault to the increasingly defunct methods of traditional demographic data analysis. As real estate professionals, we have already observed the shifts in moving from traditional media to online forums. This video challenges us to think about what this means and how we need to think differently about our engagements online.
Hi Lola,
There has been a shift, but unfortunately many people aren't participating. They continue to broadcast market in the old ways. I guess that still works, if you broadcast by spreading a big enough net, but eventually the effectiveness will diminish.

@Marty...Thanks. :)
@Kristal...it's been interesting to watch the dynamics change. I think that the traditional media is still playing major catch up with the social media revolution. But then again, so is a lot of the real estate community. This Shift is impacting every single industry and many of us are just giving it lip service & not investing the time and resources necessary to be effective.
Hello Lola,
Taste communities may be the new buzz word for niche marketing. "Entertainment and play have a huge impact on people's lives." Interesting... We are fortunate that our town is in the top 10 retirement communities in PA. We get to help our clients focus on entertainment and play as they purchase their second homes. I wish all the country would be so blessed.

Brian, how does this impact the recruiting and marketing effort in your business? An interesting comment if you carry the conclusion to other aspects of our industry as well. Thinking of how this could impact the brokerage community if the focus shifted from simply rounding up 'warm bodies' to recruiting individuals who shared a passion for the same thing. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment.
Lola, I really enjoyed the video. Interesting about the impact of women in every age group online. And the value of a click path. Love the terminology!
