Because Punxatawny Phil didn't see his shadow this morning, he predicts spring is just around the corner! For those of you suffering through yet another massive snow storm and record wind chills, this must be very welcome news. This pudgy pronosticator almost always sees his shadow, most likely from the bright lights that greet him as he wakes up to give his much anticipated prediction. As a native Pennsylvanian, I've always wanted to drive out to watch Phil and his tuxedo-clad handlers on this beloved holiday, Groundhog Day! Living now in Florida, makes that trip a little less likely. If I can't see Phil, maybe I'll plan to see the buzzards return to Hinkley, Ohio. Anyway, let's all pray Phil's ambiguous prediction (just around the corner) is accurate this year.
Hi Margo, I have always wanted to go see Punxatawny Phil as well. I am originally from western Pa...Butler, PA. Where were you born and raised? Have a great eve!
Hi Judith. I was born and raised in Beaver County, and I taught art for nearly 35 years in the Beaver Area School District. Big weekend coming up for those of us from western Pennsylvania. Go Steelers!
I have heard it is quite the production... it would be great to join in the festivities.... I am all in for spring right around the corner, we have enough snow to last to July at this point...
I always wonder about his predictions! LOL BUt at least here in Idaho we have had a cold temp winter but not tons of snow!!! It has been nice! But I am so sorry for those in the midwest and the East!
Just stopping by to invite you to the 2nd Annual ActiveRain Super Bowl Party. Hope you’ll come and bring some friends!
I was so busy getting ready for the Super Bowl that I didn't login and missed the invitation. I'm sure it was fun. Thank you for the invitation.
