After several weeks of really crappy weather and not much to be thankful for in the "mother nature" department, the sun has appeared today and while it's not warm enough to bask in the sun, or even lay in the sunspot in my foyer, I'll be thanking God for small favors today. Everyone on the east coast is really at their wit's end with gun metal gray skies and precipitation and we've just used our last "snow day" in our school district. After this, they are going to dip into spring break. But it's Thursday, and I am delivering meals on wheels, and it's not raining, so there's a big reason to be thankful!
The internet says that it's 28.2 degrees outside with a "feels like 26 degrees", which cracks me up! Seriously? Break out the bathing suits!
I am thankful it's not a "feels like 2 degrees" today. Unbelievably, they are calling for more snow on Saturday! This will put a major dent in my plans to drive to Baltimore to have lunch with some friends here on Active Rain. It's a two hour drive in good weather, so if it's raining very hard or snowing at all, I am going to miss the opportunity. It would be so nice to meet some of the friends I've made here on Active Rain.
One of my first time buyers found a lovely condo in Goshen Valley and the inspections are all done and we are awaiting appraisal and mortgage approval. The buyer is delighted with his new home and I am very thankful I was able to help him find it. I have a new listing in Byers Station, repeat clients, and I am always thankful that clients enjoyed the experience of working with me enough to repeat it!
So today, 2/3/11, I am grateful for small things. The sun is shining. Max didn't miss the bus and all seems right in his world. No news is good news on the college boy front (knocking on wood), I had a great dinner last night with some friends and I live in America. I'm reading an old Nelson DeMille novel, set in Russia and if you ever doubt we live in the greatest country on earth, I suggest you read about other countries, or better yet, travel. Speaking of small things that make a huge difference, I have a little dog waiting to get in my warm house! Add my two kittens and what more could a woman need?
Carpe Diem!
