In my last blog I was concentrating on getting ready for the next big event in Bandera Texas.  I thought it was the Hunter's Bar b que, but I totally forgot about the tastiest festival of all in the county-  The Cajun Festival in Lakehills!!  I don't know how that could have slipped my mind- especially since that was the place of my first date with my husband, 14 years ago!   I remember like it like it happened yesterday- I volunteered to work the bread pudding booth- and I've been in love ever since!   In love not just with my husband, but with bread pudding- it literally melts in your mouth!  You have to try it- along with the crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and the gumbo.  Live music is the order of the day, so bring your dancing shoes, thousands head to the lake for this once a year event- for mor info, see www.cajunfestival-medinalake.com/html/cajun.htm    See you there!

Cajun Festival sounds like fun. It reminds me of a time when a festival just like that changed my life completly. Its great to have that kind of clean activity as a center point of the charm of. the Texas Hill Country

The Cajun Festival is such a fun event!  I'm so sorry we had to miss it this year.  I'm especially sad that I didn't get a bowl of that incredible bread pudding, too.  That and the dancing and zydeco music.  Watching everyone dancing, (and cutting a rug myself), was definitely a highlight of the cajun festival.

Forgot to leave my name!  Oops!  By the way, your blog is great.  It's nice to know what's happening in Bandera and the beautiful hill country.  Aren't you glad we live here!?!

Larry Watson - Cajun Festival Co-Chairman

We would like to formally invite everyone to the Medina Lake Cajun Festival this year.  We are celebrating our 30th year with great music, bread pudding, and world famous gumbo of all varieties.  We have over 20 entrants this year including our new culinary gumbo cook off group.  This one day event is from 11:00 AM till 10:00 PM packed with entertainment including 2 stages of continuous zydeco music from the great state of Louisiana.  Remember, free parking, including shuttle service, and fun for the whole family.  See you there...

I would also like to thank Bandera for it's many contributions to this event.  It's all about the volunteers and those that have contributed to our community and our future.
