Hiking Trails In Springfield Mo - Dreaming Of Spring
Dreaming of Spring, Springfield is well known for the large number of natural hiking trails in and around the city. Many of the hiking trails also include bike trails and beautiful parks. Here are several hiking trails that will reopen as soon as the weather permits:
- South Creek Greenway
- Frisco Highline Trail
Busiek State Forest - Ritter Springs Park and Sac River Mountain Bike Trail
- Springfield Conservation Nature Center
My most favorite is the Galloway Creek Greenway. Located on the Southeast side of Springfield, just off of Sunshine, stop at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, then start your walk around parts of Springfield Lake.
Bikers can ride the Galloway Creek Greenway that start at the edge of the Nature Center and ends up on Seminole & Lone Pine. It's a beautiful 5 mile bike trail that also takes you past Sequiota Park, Springfield Lake, Galloway Village, Galloway Station Restaurant, several churches and a variety of Springfield Mo homes for sale.
I'm ready to get the bicycle out and try out some of the other trails we haven't enjoyed yet. Only 6 more weeks of winter.....hopefully.
