It's good to see the improvements and consolidation of the medical services at Fort Belvoir. I'm a little saddened that they are closing Walter Reed AMC as it will make my drive longer to the new facility at Bethesda.

You don't have to look very hard to see all of the big changes in Northern Virginia due to BRAC 05.

Cindy,
I guess Ft. Monmouth's loss is Ft. Belvior's gain with the BRAC moves. $4B should stimulate any economy.

It sounds like it's a major step forward.
Good luck and success.

The new facility sounds like a terrific addition to the community.
I am really excited about the new facility. I had to make a trip to DeWitt ER a couple of years ago and I will tell you, I was absolutely blown away by the level of care I received there. Those folks deserve a top notch facility!
Yikes that is huge Cindy, I can imagine the type of care people will get at Fort Belvoir Community hospital will be exceptional. I have noticed that availability and access to good health care is becoming a factor in where people choose to live.
Gerad-when it is all completed the military families and retirees who live in this area will be lucky to have both the Ft. Belvoir Community hospital and Bethesda as top notch facilities.
Pat-no many of them are lumming over us when we drive on I-95 and I.-395.
Hannah-especially for our soliders.
Richard-it is a big chunk of change. You have to wonder if 9/11 hadn't happened how much of this new building would have occured?
Lou-for our military families it will be a welcome update.
Steve-I know it has been a long time coming and will be a major upgrade for the troops.
Susan-the current DeWitt is a bit imposing from the outside but the level of care as you discovered is top rate.
David-this facility has a huge mission ahead of it and our military and retirees will benefit from it.
