Create, label with your brand obvious so no one would want to five finger discount lift it the key. Make it so you don't care and want them to use with it obvious where it came from thinking. Agree with what you say and hard work but good luck stopping it. Make it work for you.
This is a sad thing to happen to you and all your hard work. Hope for better days ahead.
KK - Your maps, like Lenn's, are a pleasure to look at and an enhancement to your site. Between the two of you we have some good information on tracking thieves, and a better understanding of the legal issues.
Unfortunately the word "copyright" does not seem to deter some folk.

Kristal, I had never seen your maps, they ARE really nice --- could I borrow them for my site? Just kidding! You are very creative when you do these!
I have wondered how Lenn made the maps she uses for a long time now. A map maker! Who would have thunk?
Great maps and an even better blog. Thanks for re-inforcing this.
Kristal,
The beat goes on. I am pressing the office to have a couple of policies regarding copyright. It is needed in the Triangle, as swiping stuff is endemic.
Kristal, I am sure that there are a host of attorneys, who are now working to keep these thieves, off of the internet.
Thanks for this post & for the link to the NAR Social Media Policy guideline PDF. It's been a topic of concern to me for sometime.
Oops! I hope I didn't give away any of Lenn's secrets! She was open with me, so I don't believe so.
Yes, there seems to be a serious lack of respect for copyright law. I would love to create a website called "The Hall of Shame" where offenders could be publically displayed and ridiculed, like they were back when our country was first formed.

Kristal, this should not be. YOu are right. There is no respect for many things these days. Good for you to point it out.
Krystal, Maybe you should go after the thieves. I know that has worked out for Lenn. If no one lets them know they will just keep helping themself.
Interesting read, I had no idea how this stuff can be traced. I don't think any of my agents have tried this, because they avoid the internet for the most part :(, but a social media policy sounds like a great idea.
I love the school map. That is great for relo clients. What I really want to learn is how you get that cool torn edge on the photo you placed at the top.
