Tired of Ice & Snow, Remember a few months ago in Kerrville, TX

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with CastNet Realty TREC#263257

I'm tired of seeing ice and snow on TV and in person.  I'm tired of feeling cold winds on my face and blistering my hands.  I don't like the sound of the howling wind.  I don't like holding the door firmly so it doesn't fly out of my hand when I'm coming or going.

I feel sorry for my friends further north that have to shovel snow just to get out of their driveways or take a chance driving on slick streets.

So for all of us who are weary of these scenes, take a moment to relax and imagine the warm sun on your face, the soothing calls of song birds, the smell of barbecue on the grill, the splash of the pool and the gentle breeze of evening falling.

Welcome to Paradise

It's time for all little birdies to come home.

  Evening by poolside

The sun is setting and an evening by the pool is so relaxing and enjoyable.  All the hurriedness of the day melts away.  Remember the warmth.  Doesn't it feel good?

Hope you enjoyed this little visual moment of warmth and relaxation.  We rarely have cold weather here in the Texas Hill Country and when it comes, it is only here for a few days.  I am so thankful!  I don't like the cold.

If you are like me and don't like the cold and you are living in the northern states, why don't you move to Texas?  It is so nice here and the prices are probably less than what they are in your area.  You could buy a bigger or nicer place for less money and you could enjoy the warm weather almost year round.  We have our seasons but they are nothing compared to what the northern states have for half the year.

If you have thought about moving but did not know where to go or have contacts to help you, call me.  I will be happy to help you.  Texas is a big place but the Texas Hill Country is the absolute best part with clear streams and rivers, rugged hills, cypress trees, incredible sunsets, wide open spaces and fertile valleys.  We have it all!

Texas people are friendly!  We welcome new people in our town and a big percentage of Kerrville is from other parts of the country.  Kerrville is a retirement mecca.

I can help you find your dream home or land.  Please visit our website www.reretx.com and let me know if I can help.  Your wildest dream of moving south may not be as wild as you think.

Sun is setting

Gee Ricki,

I don't recall Kerrville looking like that but again it has been 40+ years since I have been there.  I can say though you had me going there for a minute then I looked outside my back door.

Hi Stan,  Definitely, come on down!

Thanks Judi,  It's easy to forget when it is so cold! :)

Hi Don,  Maybe you need to come back here and see how it has changed.  The beautiful rivers and trees are still here though and the hills never change.        I feel for you! :)

I hear ya!  The snow and ice was fun for a day and the sub freezing temps are grating on my last nerve...I am so ready for Mr. Sun and more normal seasonal temps to prevail in our wonderful Hill Country!  Thanks for the warm thoughts and visuals...I can almost picture myself wakeboarding!!! :)

Howdy and evening to you Ricki

Ricki,
I made a 12 foot high ski snow mountain from the snow I shoveled the other day. I even did a video of the snow mountain and posted it. I just make a game out of shoveling snow. Thank you mighty kindly for the photos to set my eye upon.

Have a good one

Hi Jeani,   Me too, wakeboarding would be fun about now! :)

Howdy Dale,  I will go check out your blog.  12 feet is mighty tall for a snowman. I don't envy you at all building it.  It makes me shiver just to think about it :)

Hey Steve,  Glad I could oblige.  Can't wait til Spring, I am counting the days!  BTW, we got above freezing today with sunshine and tomorrow is looking at 60 degrees, woo hoo!

Hi Elizabeth,  Thank you, and folks, if you want the Lubbock area or in the Panhandle go see Elizabeth, she is the best!

I was 22 when I moved to Kerrville and knowing that Kerrville was something like #4 in the nation for retirees, I was fortunate to have met my husband who was 25 at the time.  Whew!

Give us five months and we will be complaining about the heat!

Ricki,

I moved from Colorado to get away from the cold weather. I keep reminding myself that these are the winter months. We're just so blessed to have wonderful weather most of the year here in the Hill Country. Loved your blog! :) Liz

Me too, Thomas.  That's what I'm doing right now, daydreaming about when I'll be able to go swimming again.  I hate cold weather.  I love cooking outside and I hate being cooped up inside when it's just too cold to  go out.
