April 15th is just a short way off and this Monday I have an appointment to visit with my tax accountant. I keep pretty good records during the year with all pertinent information kept in monthly files. It still requires many hours of work to compile the documentation to satisfy the tax preparer and ultimately the IRS. It's really not the way I would like to spend my weekend but the deadline nears.
We have all heard about implementing a flat tax system in the United States and this weekend reminds me of just how nice that would be. I have researched " flat tax " on the Internet and it seems to make so much sense, maybe that's why it will never happen. Still, I think we need to make some serious changes to our current complicated and unfair tax system. A simple pay as you go system, no monthly folders and no lost weekends. I like it, how about you?
