If You Think This Is Going to Be a Low Calorie Game Day Snack...Better Read More of the Blog Roll

Here it is Superbowl Sunday and you still haven't planned your Game Day Menu? This recipe is easy to make and might be a touchdown with your friends coming over. I promise this is so easy, even you can do it.

Game Day Nachos

Ingredients

Enough nacho chips to cover a 12" round baking sheet with one layer

1 Lb Ground Beef

1 package taco seasoning mix

1 - 8 oz package of your favorite shredded cheese

1 - 10 oz container of Philadelphia Santa Fe Blend Cooking Creme (this is a new product, but it is on the shelves locally)

1 - 10 oz can of refried beans (I like Old El Paso)

1 1/2 cups finely chopped onions

1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper

Directions

Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain. Add the taco seasoning per package directions and cook out the water. Add 1/2 the Santa Fe Cooking Creme to the ground beef and mix thoroughly and set aside.

Heat the refried beans in another skillet and add the remainder of the Cooking Creme, mix thoroughly and set aside.

Scatter the nacho chips over the baking sheet. Sprinkle about half the shredded cheese over the chips. Bake in a 350 deg oven long enough to melt the cheese and cement the nacho chips together (just a few minutes - be sure to set the timer)

Cover the shredded cheese layer with the ground beef. On top of the ground beef, with a large spoon, drop the refried bean mixture and GENTLY spread so as not to disturb the ground beef layer.

Sprinkle the chopped onions on top and put the remaining shredded cheese on top of the onions

For the final touch, sprinkle the chopped red bell pepper

Now, put the baking tray in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until the top layer of cheese is melted. Do not let the nacho chips burn.

Servings? Depends on how hungry you and your friends are.

Calories? If you have read this far, I'm sure it doesn't matter.

Put on the game and enjoy!

I didn't watch the game....I'm visiting my parents in Florida and we watched a couple of movies instead.  If the Pats were playing, we would have watched.  Anyways, the nachos sound delish!
