12 Comments on Weather Makes Life Interesting
It has definitely been the Talk of the Town here in Indy with 4 inches of ice....most of us gave up on buying salt and invested in sledge hammers and axes! lol
this is an amazing picture ...just like most of yours are!! Yes, weather has been a huge topic of conversation in Wisconsin, which brought a little relief from TWO ENTIRE WEEKS OF SUPERBOWL HYPE!!
Cindy, Sledge hammers might be more dangerous than the ice!
Pat, Thanks! I pity you for having to deal with the hype, although Super Bowl hype tends to enliven the local economy.

Kristal, Yes weather is an ice breaker. Great photo. Was it taken through a frosty window or touched up on photoshop? Wonderful.

We have "snow fatigue" here in Chicago - but your photo is so stunning that I can forget for a moment that it's winter.
Gloria, I am experimenting with texture overlays in Photoshop. The orginal photo was very dull as it was nearly dark that day.
Thanks,
kk
Very artsy photo, reminds me of a painting, I like it. Strange how that cold spell just sunk down south of us this past week, we've been pretty comfortable thank goodness.
I love the treatment of the photo. I don't have photoshop - I've never wanted to pay for it - but that almost makes me want to make the investment.
People on the east coast are exhausted from the weather. This last one was a total nightmare. The ice was so bad that the salt shortage kept me iced in for three days. When I tried to get out. I got stuck in the ice and punctured a tire trying to get the tires free.
Ruthmarie,
Thanks, glad you like the image. I think you can do the same sort of thing using Photoshop elements. It's just justing layers to blend a texture over the top of the image, then reduce the opacity. The process sounds a lot harder than it really is.

p.s. I heard Photoshop Elements is only $60 at Costco...
Kristal, WV has been luck for the past few weeks, we've had good weather and sunshine...hope it continues!
Krystal - What a stunning picture. If I hadn't scrolled through the comments I would havethrought it was a painting.
Kristal, it is amazing how you took a picture of a dead looking tree on a yucky winter day and turned it into a work of art. I like how your other comments described it.
