SERVICE WITH VERIZON WIRELESS.. not up to par

Service with Verizon Wireless, not up to par. This morning like every morning, I woke up and turned on my cell phone first thing. Once again I am having issues with the service through Verizon. Yes, this happened about 2 weeks ago.

My phone is on... but no incoming messages. When I go online via my computer I have about 15 waiting for me. This is not a good sign. Next I'm wondering if my phone works. I call my cell from a land line and it automatically rolls over to voice mail. UGH!! What a way to start a Monday.

I am working on trying to get a hold of someone at Verizon to see what is going on. In the mean time to all my clients, co-workers and friends, please bare with me on this. Leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will check my voice mail messages frequently. I'm out today at a home inspection this morning, so as far as emails... as soon as I get them on my phone I will respond. Otherwise once I get in front of a computer I will reply.

I hope this reaches people I am working with. How frustrating!!! Is anyone else who has verizon wireless service running into this issue?

I have US Cellular and have had them for years and years...actually the only provider I have ever had. Some issues, but overall happy with them. I know how frustrating it can be....Whenever my Blackberry causes some issues, I take out the battery for a few mins....sorry for your technical issues..hope they resolve soon!!

EJ.. You are right, I have a Blackberry. However, I didn't want to remove the cover, it was starting to break. For some reason when I was checking out connections, my connection was not working. So, I reconnected it and called *228 and to update my service connection. And everything worked fine afterwards... just took time for the emails to come through.

Kristin.. I will have to get a new cover and keep that on hand. So, if this happens again, I will just pop out the battery. But should we have to do that in the first place? Why do these things happen if nothing was wrong with it when we shut it off.

Mike... I couldn't agree with you more. Verizon is a walk through the park when it comes to issues compared to Nextel.

Valerie, We have had no issue with Verizon but did with AT&T...we had an emergency situation and the service wanted us to give them a credit card number to dial out...crazy...changed services right away! I hope you find a quick solution to this problem!

Wanda.. I found a solution yesterday, and it was fixed. However, I am back to square one today. Once again I am not receiving incoming calls or emails. Everything under manage connections is properly turned on.

Thanks George.. I did get it up and working yesterday, but it is having issues again today. There are the same ones, but the correction that worked yesterday doesn't seem to be fixing the problem.

Valerie, you've gone back to the dark ages of real estate. Now start looking for a phone booth. and if you see one, take a photo and post it because they are just too scarce. Maybe time to get Verizon to give you a new phone, it''s possible but will get you an extension to your contract.

I'm coming to the end of my contract with T-mobile and was thinking of switching to Verizon. Hmmmm!! Now I'm not so sure. Maybe some more research needed.

Complain, complain, complain to Verizon. I used to get dropped calls until I started to connect my ear piece to the phone, by accident, I found out that the wire and ear piece worked like an antenna.

Ed... I've gone back to the dark ages??? I truly don't understand that one. This phone is NEW only 3 months old, maybe 4 by now. No, not getting another one. Don't want to extend my plan.

Steve... Generally speaking Verizon has been wonderful. I've now been a customer of theirs for over 8 years. This is the first *issue* I've had. Otherwise, I've had great service... not dropped calls, and most importantly, calls coming to my phone after they have been sent... not 3 days later... which Nextel was noted for. Dropped them VERY quickly.

Kenneth.. It is also the quality of the phone that you have. If you have a cheap phone... you get cheap service. I guess the saying "You get what you pay for" actually is the case here.

Kenneth.. Some how, playing around with it , I got it to work yesterday. There are NO issues today at all, even though I was waiting for it. I would recommend Verizon to anyone... just like AR it has it's day.

Valerie - I always forget to do the *228. Need to do that as well. I'm tempted to get the iPhone now that Verizon has it. Are you sticking with your Blackberry? My Treo is in such rough shape, I've dropped it in toilet (a clean one, thank heavens), scratched the cover, and the antenna is exposed.

I have found Verizon to be the best! I have a Motorola Droid and just love it. We have "not so good" coverage here in Severna Park, MD.(no close towers) and every once in a while I do not get my emails. I just turn it off and back on and they come in. Not sure what does that. I don't turn it off every night, I just figure that I have to RE-BOOT it at least once a day. It is still the best coverage available! Just my opinion!

Valerie, This has happened to me, even when I had Sprint! Some messages just like to hide and then, hit you with surprise! My office now uses Verizon as our carrier, as does my family. At least that way, we can talk to eachother, all day long, and not be charged for the minutes! Now that I know that you have Verizon, I can talk with you free, also!
