TAKE A WALK IN A PARK

I have just returned from an amazing walk with my dog at the Potomac Overlook Park. For those of you who do not live in Arlington, Virginia - this is our local nature park, right in the heart of a residential neighborhood. It is an oasis for many people who enjoy nature and contemplation.

I would like to encourage everyone to devote a few minutes a day to walking. Each time I start my day with a walk in a park, and there are many in Arlington, I feel inspired, uplifted, and ready to take on impossible tasks. There is something amazing about being surrounded by trees, seeing deer crossing your path, or listening to a delightful sound of a woodpecker.

I am enchanted by the beauty of our world. Those precious moments spent in nature make me appreciate my life more, and teach me how to notice simple things in my life that are all around me. So go to your local park today, count your blessings, and be thankful for a wonderful life you have. Have an amazing week!

P.S. I didn't have my camera on this walk, so I used a picture I took last fall.

There is a park in my community that has a small lake and it is a great place to walk or just hang out. I used to go every morning and plan to get back in that habit as we ease into Spring.

Elizabeth, What a gorgeous park. Sometimes we need to review those photos of lovely colors and another season.. does it good when it's wintertime and cold outside..

I so agree with you. I don't need a park because of where I live but if I lived in town, I would be seeking those areas to take my walks in.

Elizabeth, We on Long Island do have a few great parks for a walk, but my favorite is a place I'm writing about in my novel thats more like a hike. I love the fun of stepping on rocks, branches and tree roots, while going through a challenging nature trail.
