Are You Ready for a Virtual Walk through?

As most all of you know I love technology, and I have found me a new cool toy to play with. This technology could change how we Realtors go about our jobs. As  with all our new technology it is not so much that the tool does, but how do we apply it.Take for example QR codes, (Quick Response) they have been around a while and the debate on whether they are useful or not. I will be posting in the very near future that I am involved with of an idea that I came up that utilizes QR codes. But, it is not a real estate related application. So the question remains, how do we use them in our real estate world.

 I have run across a really innovative technology that allows you to stream live video taken with your smart phone to your website. The app is called bambuser and it is way cool.

 I have been watching the events in Egypt live from the bambuser site and I can tell you this technology is going to take off. See video below;


The video can be broadcast live and archived to your site as well. Think about that, can you think of any applications that would apply in the real estate, can you think out of the box and imagine how this enhance your Realtor world. Lets just throw a few things around, you are working with a relocation client, they are in Oklahoma, you are in Miami beach, they have been online and found 4 homes that they think might work for them. You visit the neighborhood, they are home in OK and they log onto your website and they see and hear you live, you can show them the neighborhood, the garage, the basement, the master, you will be giving them a live virtual tour and talking to them as well.

How about a virtual final walk through, we all know that some clients cannot be bothered with showing up to the final walk through, they don't have too. Not only can you walk them through but you have a lasting record of the event on your website as well. Does anybody else see the endless real estate potential here?

There is so much technology out there today, and while some of it really interesting, some of it is just that, really interesting with no real practical application in our business or personal lives.
