It's Just a Hop, Skip and a Jump.....

I can honestly say that in every part of the Cedar Rapids area, there is a grocery store, a restaurant, a park, a school, a walking trail, shopping...all within a hop, skip and a jump from any home that you see!

I was out with a new relocating family over the weekend and as I drove through the areas that they had identified as neighborhoods of interest, they were amazed by the convenient locations of the housing compared to the shopping areas, recreation areas as well as medical facilities as well.

I guess I never really thought about it before.  The fact that there is NOT a Starbucks on every corner or a Casey's.  There is a very welcoming separation of residential areas from the commercial areas, yet it is still very convenient, often in walking distance.  There are walking trails, bus lines, parks, golf courses, coffee shops and little restaurants.  It truly is a wonderful place to live and explore.

There is a thriving downtown district with a variety of entertainment options including comedy, piano lounge, sports bars, lounges, dance clubs, trendy restaurants, coffee shops, delis, and museums too.  From the downtown farmers' markets where you will see the downtown district come alive with over 150 vendors on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day to the numerous exhibits throughout the year at our wonderful Cedar Rapids Museum of Art to the live music in Greene Square Park provided by the Cedar Rapids Jaycees on Friday nights in May, June and July, there is always something to do for both singles and families too!

The quality of life in our city is one of the best in the state and we have top notch schools and universities as well!  With so much to do and so little time, you will never complain that there is not something you can do for the weekend.  We are located centrally in the Midwest where you can travel to Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Kansas City in just a 4-5 hour drive or less!  How great is that!

Remember, when you relocate to Cedar Rapids, my goal is to assist you in making this a home where you are actively involved in the community.  We make it easy for you with so much that is just a hop, a skip and a jump away!

Keep smiling!

Karen

I love downtown farmer's markets, they go over big around here as well.  150 vendors, wow!
