Have you noticed the psychedelic Volkswagen Combi van parked on Frederick Road in Catonsville? How could you miss it? It's the rolling sign for the newest Pizza restaurant in town.
Peace A Pizza recently opened a location at 15 Mellor Avenue in the business district of Catonsville. In the last few years Catonsville has been blessed with some great new eateries (stay tuned as I eat my way through the 'ville this year) and this is no exception.
The location is not so hot (It's off the usual beaten path) and the sign outside that says "Sorry We're Open" is rather odd, but it is well worth the visit.
The inside of the restaurant is bright and colorful. The play on word "Peace" is the theme. A hippy haven. You place your order at the counter.
At first I think I was a little skeptical as the restaurant was empty on a Sunday afternoon, but then there was the food. WOW. What a delicious and pleasant surprise. All three of us had something different. Drew had a "peace" of Pepperoni (his favorite pizza in the whole wide world) that was almost as big as he was. He finished the entire thing, crust and all.
I had the tomato and Mozzarella pizza slice and it was to die for. This is the house specialty. Huge chunks of fresh cheese, tomato slices and fresh basil. It does not get any better than that.
Despite the lack of atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
They deliver within a three mile radius, so I am confident that we will be ordering online very soon.
A great addition to the Catonsville Restaurant scene.
