Victoria, BC is truly a beautiful place and for those looking to invest, the landscape might be very attractive. There's not many foreclosures like the US, but there are deals to be had. Investing in our local real estate market is made simpler by knowing what to look for and knowing how to look for it.
A while back a friend of mine invited me to the Victoria Real Estate Investors Club (VREIC)...great people, great discussions. The club began a few years ago by Gord and Denise and has grown every year since.
Some good advice I received when I first went to the meetings is that money made is on the front-end and not the back-end; it's the purchase price that's so critical to cash-flow and net gains at the end of the day.
Meetings are last Tuesday of every month, 7pm, at the Comfort Hotel in Victoria. Open to the public and offering an annual membership as well, the club offers speakers on wide variety of topics.
