Should the PSC Allow O&R to Increase Their Rates??
This Thursday there will be a Public Service Commission hearing on Orange and Rockland Utilities proposed rate increase that will take place at:

Suffern, New York 10901
Orange & Rocklandis requesting to raise electric rates by 59.4 million dollars in order to offset costs of outlays, pensions, post-employment benefits, recent storms and lower forecasted sales. This raise would increase the typical residential electric customers bill by about ten dollars a month.
Residents will have a chance to let the Public Service Commission know how they feel about this proposal at either one of two scheduled sessions (Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening). The evening session will be broadcast live on Cablevision channels 75/77/78, Verizon Fios channel 32 and video-streamed live over the Town's website www.ramapo.org.
If you'd like to let the Public Service Commission know how you feel about this proposed increase, come to Town Hall on Thursday February 10, 2011 in the afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00 PM or Thursday night, between 8:00 and 10:00 PM.
