According to Parents Magazine, our own Children's Museum of Houston is ranked #1! The level of interaction & entertainment for children is astounding. The Children's Museum of Houston is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Sunday from Noon to 6:00 PM. Admission is $8 for adults & children over the age of 1. For a special deal, every Thursday night from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it's FREE Family Night, courtesy of The Wortham Foundation, Inc. & Kathrine McGovern.
The museum has 90,000 square feet of interactive exhibits. There are 14 hands-on galleries. Check out the Kid Lift in How Does it Work? where you can raise yourself 5 feet into the air to see how pulleys work. Or become an inventor in a workshop in the Invention Convention using magnets or plastic bags or water bottles and more! Each child receives a Kid Card when they enter the museum. This card works much like an ATM card in Kidtropolis, USA with a starting 60 Kidtropolis Dollars to be used for shopping or special workshops. And the children can take on a job in Kidtropolis to earn a wage of 20 Kidtropolis dollars to replenish that Kid Card.
