7 Comments on Be very careful when inputting a listing! One small mistake could cost you a fortune!
I made a mistake once regarding a garbage disposal and a refrigerator, The seller took both and I replaced them.
Ouch. That's a huge ugly mistake. Our MLS has a disclaimer at the bottom of the listing that pertains to mistakes.
Ours does too Ellie. However, that's too big of a mistake for the buyer's to accept. I mean, the disclaimer makes it so they can't sue the listing agent, but it doesn't help with how the deal turns out. And I feel horrible for the agent because the sellers must really be upset with her. It is going to cost them alot because of her mistake.
Great reminder about the importance of accuracy.
I share an empathatic heart. That's very unfortunate. It's too bad we live in a "no mercy," type of society. This is a lesson no one ones to repeat.
It's a reminder to check and double check. I hope that something can be worked out.
As a rule I have my clients go over the print out of the listing once it is processed.
This is a great way to double check that everything is correct. Sometimes simple things like whether the washer and dryer are included or not can be straightened out right at the table with the seller before things go too far!
