Have you seen this video of Paul Potts from Britain's Got Talent? Jolynne showed me this on you tube last night and I thought it was a powerful reminder that we all have greatness inside of us.
Paul is...or was...in sales, selling mobile phones. But he had this dream to sing opera. When he steps up to the mic and says he wants to sing opera, you will probably think to yourself "Oh, brother!"
This video actually brought the Hemet Home Loan Guy and his wife to tears. There's something powerful about it; Potts' humility, his dumpy oufit, his everyman job. His, um, stereotypically British dental problems. ;)
Watch the audience reaction to this. Watch the judges, even the perennially jaded Simon Cowell.
We all have an audience. Our family is in the audience. So are our friends. Our coworkers, neighbors and even strangers are in our audience. God is in the audience, too.
We also have things that hold us back. For Paul, it was a lack of confidence.
The awesome thing about stepping outside of your comfort zone is that you step into your greatness.
Do the audience a favor. You know that idea that excites and scares you? It's okay to be afraid to do it. But DO IT ANYWAYS.
Step into your greatness!

That was great!!! WOW!!! What a surprise. Thanks for sharing this.
Joey - I actually watched it again, and it also brought me to tears. I don't know if you know this or not, but Paul Potts won the entire contest this past season!
JOEY: Step Into Greatness should be the name of the company that you create as you tour the country coaching. It's got a nice ring to it. Thanks for the inspiration.
WOW Joey!!! Thanks for sharing! When he said Opera you are right I said "yuck" but that was incredible. Just shows we also need to watch our preconceived notions. You never know when a lump of coal may be a diamond in disguise.
This made me cry. It has me in it.... my past, the way i was looked at,,... and now just look at how GOD has me looking. I can sure identify. The words you wrote with it set the stage too.... thanks.... so glad i found this post. Blessings to you
Barbara: He pretty much surprised everyone. Thank you for visiting. Come back soon!
Jason: I just watched it again with my friend Ben and both of us choked up. We also youtubed the episode where he won. What a humble guy. I hope he can keep that humility as he gains confidence and notoriety.
Hugh: So true. This guy reminds me of that verse "We have this treasure in jars of clay." If the apostle Paul were here today, he might use this instead: "You know how Paul Potts won Britain's got talent? Well, the faith is like that..."
Linda: Thank you so much for visiting my blog. You are a quality person who steps into greatness on a regular basis. Take care!
Diane: There are so many negative messages that it's important to remember your greatness and how far you've come. You are a princess in the kingdom of God and deserve to feel good about that! Thank you for your visit!
I've seen this one before and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes and goosebumps on the arms! I showed my kids and even they loved him. Important lessons for all to learn from this. Never, ever judge anyone based on our own preconceived notions, for they are usually wrong.
Ahley: I keep sharing it with other people, too. His story touches the heart.
Pamela: Thanks again for visiting, Pam. Where did you first see this? You tube? Or do they air it in the states, too? My family doesn't have television.
Joey: All I could say is that there's nothing I watch on YouTube twice..... but I replayed it again because I couldnt get enough of it...
I absolutely love the humility of Paul Potts. He is such a simple guy - it seems.... yet powerful in his God-given talents...... I've never enjoyed Opera until I heard his voice. But most of all, because of what humble beginnings he has had. I have just asked my husband to buy me his CD - to support him.
