Based on household income, home value, population per capita income and lifestyle, ESRI has made a list.

Boomburbs, which include Happy Valley, Camas and Beaverton, and have the highest population growth. These are young families with two incomes and an average age of 33.8 years. They are also the most likely to own projection TVs, MP3 players, scanners and laser printers, and they vacation at Disney World.

Metropolitans, those who live in inner Portland, have a median age of 37.7 years, and are half singles and half married couples. Traits include frequent travel, civic activities, the zoo and museums, and listening to classical and jazz music. They also practice yoga, rollerblade, and go hiking and backpacking.

Suburban splendor is the epitome of upward mobility. The zip code includes the cities of West Linn, Tualatin and the Washington County portion of Portland. The median age of these often well-educated residents is 41.6 years. Home improvement and remodeling projects are a main focus. They travel extensively for business and pleasure, go to the theater, stay physically fit, visit museums, track their investments and hold life insurance policies.

Then there is urban chic.  These well-educated married couples and single professionals who call Lake Oswego home. The average age is 42.7 years and they live in expensive single-family homes.  The are pretty much like the Metropolitans but they live near downtown Lake Oswego.

It will come as no surprise to many readers that Lake Oswego is the area’s wealthiest zip code. Here are the top five:
