The annual Merrimack NH Winter Carnival is set and ready to go on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 12-3 , in Wasserman Park off of Naticook Road. Just another thing that makes Merrimack NH a Great place to live and play.
Outdoor activities include an ice fishing tournament sponsored by the Merrimack Lions Club. The Lions Club will provide equipment, instruction and plenty of warm beverages.
The Merrimack Sno Buds Snowmobile Club will offer snowmobile rides throughout the day through park trails.
Karate outdoors starts at 130. The al-fresco demonstrations, offered by students and teachers from the Independent School of Karate.
The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department will host a “Build a Snowman” event. Participants will be encouraged to design and build their prettiest, wackiest or most unusual snowman. Chunks of charcoal for eyes and long, orange carrots for noses will be made available. Visitors are encouraged to bring other decorations – hats, brooms, mittens, colorful scarves or other accessories that will make a snowman a prize winner.
A snow painting contest also is scheduled.
Hot cocoa and brownies will be provided by Christopher Figueroa, a Scout from Troop 424.
Girl Scout cookies will be available for sale that day from local Girl Scout Troops.
Volunteers from Merrimack Friends and Family, a social and charitable group of nearly 100 members, will sell nachos and hot coffee to raise funds for an end-of-year donation to a local beneficiary.
This is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the fresh NH air and a day of family fun.
