This weekend was the Great Meredith Fishing Derby. Held Saturday and Sunday Feb. 12 and 13, 2011.
What a weekend to sneak away during the afternoons to check it out. Saturday brought out record crowds from near and far. There was thousands upon thousands of people around. The bay was turned into a initure city with a mix of families and mardi gras style craziness going on at some of the bob houses. With 18 inches of ice, there were bob houses of all styles, price and style. There were shanties, lean toos, portable tent style and some bigger than some houses i see.
There was hot tubs, some home made bars, tons of barbeques, bon fires, helicopter rides and oh yeah, ice fishing too...
Congratulations to the Meredith Rotary for putting on a great event this year as always...
