For 2 wonderful days we sat in natural mineral hot springs in the snowy town of Pagosa Springs. In this picture you can see one of the Jacuzzi looking soak pools with the river in the background. We had bright blue skies and the sun felt warm on our faces....even though the air was a brisk 25° !

For breakfast we wandered across the bridge into the historic little town. The buildings on the main street date primarily from the late 1800s to early 1900s. They used to house the banks and saloons but are mainly antique stores now. We ate green chili breakfast burritos before wandering back to soak before our 2-hour massages. Great day!

For dinner we were directed to the Alley House. I had the best Corn Soup I've ever had. I'm going to try and recreate it tonight for my husband. It had chunky roasted corn (which I can buy frozen at Trader Joes), chopped sauted green chilies and onions, and fresh green onions. I'm also certain that I tasted some coconut milk.

Pagosa Springs is definitely on our "must-go" for road trips.....vacations can be so exhausting that a soak day or two in the middle is a very good idea. :)
