So much for well laid plans. My hubby and I were all scheduled to celebrate Valentine's Day at the Portland City Grill, Aaron Meyers & Tim Ellis team up for a Valentines in the Sky event.
Instead, I'm lounging on the couch, my head feels like it looks like the Jack in the Box guys head, and just altogether feeling crappy with this cold. I do blame this on my personal trainer Angie because she was just saying last week how we've been lucky not to have gotten sick...damn her. (ok, not really her fault)
My hubby just e-mailed me and said we might be able to cancel the reservations and get a refund for the nights event..and at $250, this would be a really good thing.
Being married for almost 28 years, I have never really fallen into the "hype" of valentines day. I've long ago requested to stop giving me that box of chocolates, a nice card and dinner out is perfect for me. It is nice to recognize your loved ones on this day, but for me it's really all about the little things you do all through the year that say "I love You".
Through the years, I've never had a "honey do" list. If I just mention in passing that I'd like one of the huge planter pots down on the bottom level, before I know it it's there. Knowing how much I hate picking up those open house signs at the end of my opens...especially when it's raining, I love those times he shows up and says he'll go pick them up for me. To me...all those little gestures are what's important.
So, if we can't get a refund he might be looking for a "fill in" date for the evening......any takers? LOL
