HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND ON ACTIVERAIN? A NEW MEMBER WANTS TO KNOW - PART 2.
ActiveRain members who do not read or respond to comments to their posts on ActiveRain are missing a good opportunity to enjoy fantastic networking opportunities. A thread of posts and comments about ActiveRain Addiction has generated a few posts and comments about that very subject. The question remains, "is ActiveRain an addiction"? Or, as I believe, a part of our daily network experiences that enhance our business.
A comment (and question) to my post of February 13, asking me to quantify the time I spend on ActiveRain, generated this post. The writer mentioned that I spend a great deal of time"writing a multitude of hyperlocal posts".
HYPERLOCAL POSTS. I do publish a number of hyperlocal posts. In fact, I plan to increase that activity this year. Posts about my market area, communities, vendors, businesses, recreation areas, etc., provide my web sites with valuable Google synergy. However, I also spend a good deal of time reading many posts and comments contributed by others. My purpose and the amount of time spent depends on the writer and their location.
Attorney writers. What a wealth of information they provide. Can't be measured.
Home inspectors. Not only facts but photos showing defects. Great learning experience.
Agents from other market areas. I love to learn about real estate practices in other local areas.
Local agents. They may (and have) become very valuable referral resources.
IT'S MY JOB. I consider 95% of the time I spend on ActiveRain business related. I've built a network of real estate "business associates" across the country (and Canada) that could not have been accomplished through live networking.
A VIRTUAL JOURNEY. Personal fulfillment has been generated through reading the posts of folks like Mike in Tucson and the wonderful photos he shares of that magnificent area. In fact, Mike's photos inspired me to paint a couple of canvases of the Tucson skyline and the great Saguaro cactus. That was personal fulfillment that I wouldn't have enjoyed had I not spent the time reading many ActiveRain posts.
HOW MUCH TIME ON ACTIVERAIN?? I can't quantify the time I spend on ActiveRain because it isn't important. What's important is that, once I integrated ActiveRain into my marketing plan, I have the opportunity to write about my market and publish my writings, meet and network with many agents and brokers, gain a deeper understanding about the real estate industry and not have to leave my desk.
