BELIEVE WHAT YOUR REAL ESTATE AGENT TELLS YOU....THEY KNOW

We have all seen the newspapers, blogs and reports. Everyone once in a while, there are articles that belt out...Recovery has started, Real Estate picking up, foreclosures are down, unemployment claims are slowing and jobs are being created.

The first thing to hit me is ...where is all this taking place? It isn't happening where I live. It is not happening in my county, my state and I wonder where in the country this is taking place. I understand three things right away:

1. The news agencies are trying to start a phony recovery moral booster to help the dying economy. George Orwell writes about this in his novel 1984. They print that the supply of chocolate has been increased, and people cheer. Then they print it has been decreased, and people despair. The truth is, there is no chocolate or very little of it.

2. The news agencies cannot really print the truth as we know it. Corruption, injustice, rule breaking, negligence, irresponsibility and indifference permeate the governmental agencies like a strange disease. Printing that would make matters worse.

3. The Real Estate agents know what is really going on in Real Estate, banking and property values. We know what banks are doing, how short sales play out, the foreclosure stats, loan modding processes and just how challenging it is to do business in today's economic climate. We know what to do and how to do it.

SAIL WITH SOMEONE THAT KNOWS THESE WATERS

If you are going to investigate or inquire about our current or future prospects for Real Estate and all its related fields, I would definitely consult a Real Agent for the trench facts. It never fails when I check in with my associates that we get the true picture and are able to conduct business accordingly

Things have a way of getting worse before they get better. I am reminded that when people get a fever, that means they are up against something and that the fever is a sign that the body is fighting back.

Real Estate has a fever and it will recover with proper care and feeding. Your local Real Estate agent can help with this process and bring remedy using reality, experience and professionalism.

richie, no offense, but I suggest to my clients not to trust the opinion of real estate agents. Who are they? What training do they have to analyze the market. What specific knowldge do they have to that.

None.

Some are thinking people and are interested in this and can be good, but overwhelming majority don't.

By the way, I trust media way better. you see, i have not see articles by media. They alway interview people, including agents, but they at least usually pick reputable and knowledgeable agents.

Media does not create news, they amplify what is there. If there is nothing, there is nothing.

Look around youl talk to agents, how many of them you would trust so that you would buy base on their recommendation?

I would not count more than a few people out of more than a thousand. the rest of them just do what agents should do. Take offers, fill out contracts, follow with the paper work. Predicting and analyzing the market is not what agents do, and if they do, it may be catastrophic

Jon...you are one of the few people whose opinion I respect and enjoy. There can never be an offense when you share or when others share for that matter. Everyone brings value when they do. In my post,  I am of course referring to hands on knowledgeable people known as professionals in the business where Real Estate is their calling. Thank you for letting me clear that up. It is true that there are many in this business that don't know how to get out of bed unless they fell out of bed.  I would advise no contact. Now, as to the media, my friend, surely we can agree that they manipulate points of view and it is most important to know whether they are conservative, liberal, accurate or radical in their opinions. Randolph Hearst used this power to strike fear in the hearts of his enemies and to promote his self-interests until regulations and other powers check mated him. Now, the power of the press has been broken once and for all with the advent of the Internet. Now, people can access many sources and then conclude what they will and know for themselves. I am a strong advocate of the use of common sense which never fails. The failure lies in people not listening and then not obeying what they know is right in their hearts. I have books out on the subject. Refer to "Pearls for the Soul" which is a collection of over 800 positive and uplifting sayings that can change your day or life for the better. People read my book and then know what to do. Its inherent. Common sense and truth works every-time. Please continue to share your points of view and of course your contributions as I find them worthy and stimulating...thank you Jon
