Does Facebook seem lonelier lately? There's a reason!

Facebook has done it again, changing things without telling us. We should be used to it by now, huh?

I noticed about a month ago that Facebook seemed to be slowing down. I was talking to the same people and many of my friends seemed to disappear. I assumed that most had joined the new Groups and many of those groups are private, so of course their posts don't show up in your news feed.

Then a Facebook friend from New York posted a reason and a solution on her status.

Go to your Home page (News Feed):

Then, scroll all the way to the bottom. On the right hand side click on Edit Options:

Then, change the Show Posts From from "Friends and pages you interact with most" to "All of your friends and pages." Be sure to Save, and that's it!

Now you will see people that you thought dropped off the face of the earth. Happy Networking!

Yes, Melanie, I have, although sporadically. I had to stay off the computer most of the day yesterday just to get a break, and I've been swamped with contract work this morning which is a very good thing!

But our office is broadcasting the "State of the Company and Culture" at 12:30 and I will be there! When I get home I'll catch up on everything else.

I used to toggle between News Feed and Recent News to see the difference.

Thanks Lynda, I didn't know about that setting to turn posts from less interactive friends back on.

I suspect FB does this intentionally: they don't want FB to be overrun by more prolific posters the way Twitter can be.

Another way of looking at it is Facebook Has A Spam Filter

Dave, you solved a mystery for me too, of why short sales take so long. It seems as if banks are as slow and full of red tape as the government! Glad I could help.

I'm not a Realtor® yet, but since I'm doing contracts now (and may be one some day) I want to learn as much as I can about the process. Our team does short sales from time to time.

I get frustrated too, Stacey, because it still shows only the people you interact with the most. Well, how are you supposed to interact with people if you can't see them?
