We are seeing a renewed sense of optimism in the area! The Waneta dam project has begun!
Emil Anderson Construction, the blasting experts, have arrived. The Aecon Team ( infrastructure) has been in place, and Redpath Mining Contractors (Waneta Drillers) have been on board since just before Christmas. This project is estimated to take 4 1/2 years and will be hiring over 400 labourers of all skills to complete the job.
We are beginning to see project managers come into town, and a trickle of labourers beginning. Real Estate Listings are up from 2010 and we feel the buyers will be increasing as spring approaches and more and more construction crews come into town with their families. This is truly an exciting time in the Trail and surrounding areas. Our team is optimistice that this is the turnaround that we have all been looking forward to.
