Seattle Weekly - Renovate Your Home, Increase the Value

By
Real Estate Agent with Better Properties Seattle

Seattle Weekly called me for an interview regarding advices to homeowners on renovations and the return on investment.  While I have declined these interviews in the past, as the Broker of BRIO I recognize that any time the name BRIO Realty appears in print or in the news, it helps not only the Company, but the agents as well.

I have only been the Broker of BRIO for about 3 weeks now, but I clearly recognize that while I may have turned down invites to be quoted as an individual agent in the past, my obligation to do so has increased times 75!

Every agent benefits when the Company is better known and highly respected as a source of valid opionion.

So I did this one for my agents, who deserve my better and best efforts on their behalf.  "Ardell DellaLoggia, a Broker with BRIO Realty in Bellevue says..."

Ardell,

You are doing the right thing by allowing interviews. Don't make excuses, just be happy they are calling. Do you think a bathroom is really the best thing you can add/remodel in your home?

Connie,

No the bathroom is not the best thing you can add or remodel in your home.  Number one is usually kitchen.  If you have one bath, then a second one is best.  But if you have 3 baths, a fourth provides little to no return.

Ardell, that is excellent to be featured! Sometimes it is very difficult to get a local paper to print anything that has an agent in it....

Charles,

More often the real estate company does not permit agents to talk to the press, and they have PR people only permitted to give quotes.  I think that is more the reason you don't see more agents quoted in the press.

Good interview! I recently did some interview and speaker training through Washington Realtors, so I understand a bit better how much goes into preparing yourself.

LOL Sarah,  I didn't prepare myself at all.  In fact I took the cell phone down into the parking garage and grabbed a smoke while doing the interview by cell phone.  Just a break from work for me.

Informative, even motivating!  Makes me want to grab the saw and hammer and paint brush, and take them directly to my owners, with instructions to get busy!
