Debra,

We did this for our home after ten years, and it's not even for sale!  :)

Deb, I replaced all the door hardware in our house a couple of years ago. Found a great site, online to replace all my brass lever locks with updated brass locks and very reasonable. Made everything look brand new.

Debra, one of the best ways to update a house.  I liked the website...looked pretty informative.

When we sold our house back in 2001, we replaced the front door hardware, and all the hardware in the kitchen and bathrooms. The difference was amazing.

Debbie! We were just looking at doing this! So funny you posted on it!!  We wanted the new longer handles, just trying to figure out what to do with the current holes that will be in the wrong spot on our kitchen cabinets! Maybe this link you gave will answer our questions.  It is funny how a small change like handles give a fresh look. Thanks for the link!

I talk about this with my sellers all the time! Shining brass entry sets are usually pitted and dull when I see them ;). Cabinet hardware is such an easy update for kitchens and bathrooms.

Debra, I agree.  This can be a relatively inexpensive and profitable upgrade.  Often getting a whole new front door, or at least painting it and the frame can make a big difference, too.

Hey Debi,

great little tidbit of information. According to Feng Shui, when you have door knobs or even doors that do not work properly, that references "voices" not being heard, or even possible mis-communications...so yes, spiffy up those doors and makes sure they are in good working condition. :)
