Change comes slowly to Pelham, but once in a blue moon, things get done, seemingly overnight.
(1) The Picture House was granted a parking waiver. More than 100 parking spaces that are required by Village zoning will not need to be provided by the theater.
(2) New parking (42 more spaces), a new Village Garage and Department of Public Works Building were approved. A $2.7M Bond was authorized -- subject to permissive referendum -- to cover the cost of construction and contractors were awarded bids for the job.
(3) FIOS TV finally was approved, after years of negotiation. Trustee Geoff Lewis "attended" the meeting and voted via Skype. Administrator Robert Yamuder was "there" via conference call and the meeting was cablecast live on TV.
...pretty impressive for the sleepy little Village of Pelham.
