On February 9th I was scheduled to give a staging presentation at a local real estate office in Allen,TX. I was really looking forward to the day and was excited about sharing the staging message with approximately 30 agents.
Well, as the Dallas, TX Snowmaggeddon 2011 would have it, another wave of ice came through and my talk had to be postponed.
But I had carefully crafted a sweet little giveaway that had to be given before Valentine's Day and I wasn't going to let the opportunity go by.
So on February 14th I decided to pack up my 'sweet' giveaway along with a couple dozen of the prettiest Valentine's Day sugar cookies you ever did see and stop by the office to re-introduce myself.
I wanted to make sure the agents got what I had originally intended as a fun marketing piece to "keep the conversation going" after my presentation and yes, well to secure and re-schedule my presentation for another date.
I'm glad I did stop by too.
I was warmly greeted by the Broker/owner himself along with the kind receptionist and some cute ladies in the break room who were excited to see the basket of cookies & other goodies.
It was especially nice to have a few minutes of face time with the Broker.
He even commented that it was good that I came in because their calendar was filling up. I've been rescheduled for March 23rd. Those office meetings, training classes and workshops keep most real estate offices and agents very busy!
As a side note the Broker and I connected on one of the Social Networking sites we frequent and without ever having been formally introduced in person he scheduled a staging presentation with me based on information he had read from my online content!
So if you take nothing else away from this blog please note:
It pays to keep writing solid content about what you do as a home staging professional and share the knowledge you have. Others are definitely reading.
Here below is my under .50 cent "inside the box" marketing piece to keep the conversation going after a presentation.
- Purchased sealed bags of Sweetheart Conversation Hearts (& they've totally kept up with the times with terms like, "text me, IM me, tweet me")
- Found tiny Valentine takeout boxes at Big Lots (6 for $2)
- Pre-printed labels that said "Let's keep the conversation going"
- Business card
- Simply put, all I had to do was put the conversation hearts in the take out boxes, seal up the box, adhere the pre-printed "let's keep the conversation going" label to the box and then was able to slide my business card right into the folded top. Easy peasy. My kind of marketing.
Well now I gotta think outside the box about what I'll be bringing for my March 23rd staging presentation... hum I'm thinking St. Patty's Day...green, pot of gold...stagers at the end of the rainbow...Green $$$... it's not just for leprechauns...and heck it will all be on sale by the time the 23rd rolls around!
