I remember it just like it was yesterday. After a long night and an emergency c-section, my little girl was born looking around curiously at the world. Independent from the beginning, she never took to too much cuddling--and that stayed true as she grew up.
She is fiercely independent, wickedly cleaver and unbelievably smart. She has shown us over and over again that she will make good choices and find her way along this path of life. We have learned that a debate with Krissey is a no-win proposition.
One of the sweetest things I ever read was one of her college admissions essays. I think the topic was 'one thing that most people don't know about you.' She wrote about how she would often lie fib about her plans to her friends so she could spend the evening at home with her family--by choice. We spent many a Saturday with a good meal and a good movie, enjoying her company. We love having her around and miss her all the time since she left for college nearly 3 years ago.
Krissey has turned into a beautiful young woman and I am so very, very proud of all that she has become. Over the next couple of years, as she finishes her degree and begins to make decisions about what comes next, it will be with pride and confidence that we watch her make her choices.
I still can't believe that it has been 21 years since this little miracle (now nearly 5'10"!) came into our lives...but I am thankful every day that she did!
We love you Kristine!
