17 Comments on Did You Know?….. The Internet:
Don, I use the internet exclusively for most of my purchases. The "yellow pages" and local papers aren't user-friendly. In fact, finding something in the "yellow pages" can be downright frustrating.
Don, I think Yellow Pages will soon become a thing of the past!
Great Information! Yellow pages are becoming doorstops, if they are still being distributed in your area!
Don't look now guys, if you haven't already, but..."Yellow pages" is on line, and is much more interactive and user friendly. Its the yellow paper pages that will soon become a thing of the past.
Don - Print information and advertising losing huge market share to the internet. I do my searches online.
When then yellow pages asked that we let our fingers do the walking, they didn't know what they were in for.
Gerard, I see plastic bags sitting on every doorstep that just sit & rot.
Robert, Yes, on-line Yellow Pages seems to be working!
John, I haven't done print advertising for about a year and even then, I tapered off substantially.
Glenn, true that! Now we walk our fingers on the keyboard!
Wow, 1/20th of a second!! All the more reason to have an eye catcher approach!
LOTS of people tell us they found us online. I can't remember when anyone said they found us in a phone book.
I now do so many things on the computer instead of from print and always search first via internet. Phone book..thats just the big book I find on my doorstep that goes right into my recycle bin. Kinda like the ole real estate blue book I hear about. Interesting stats!
very interesting stats!! I find it amazing that there is anything still left in print!! with the Kindle and other devices, soon we won't even have real books!! it is a computer world now for sure.
Tiera, isn't that amazing!
Leslie, yeah, it's been a while since I've heard the phone book source.
Cindy, doesn't that seem like such a waste... I'm sure they will be extinct soon.
Sheila, we've been talking a lot lately, about going paper-less.
Don, I've always believed that you have to be on the first page of Google or any search engine. My own habits tell me this along with others that I watch searching for info.
Most consumers begin their search for a new home on the internet. Most of my Realtors get 90% of their business from internet inquiries. Very little walk in traffic these days. Even the open houses are found by buyers on the internet. Be there or you won't be here long.
Nick, I agree! First page and hopefully in the top three spots is key!
Doug, you're right! Be there or you won't be here...
I have been working on "long tail" topics. With that plan, top position is very easy. For it to be effective, it takes a lot of posts. Google Juice really helps with this kind of post. One of my earliest AR Post was entitled "Prescott RV Neighborhoods." I was amazed to see it at the top position on Google tne next day. It has landed me a client with an RV to go with their new home. This may be obscure search term, but I believe it makes me the "Go to guy" when an RV is the issue.
John, you are exactly right! Way to go with the dialed-in key words!
