River Vale Spins for Peace - Spinning Pinwheels for the International Day of Peace
Once again, accolades are due the Township of River Vale, for choosing to emphasize peace and tolerance, and to teach the children the benefit of respecting each other from an early age. Under the remarkable tutelage of Meryl Wolf, SAGE Coordinator for the Elementary Schools, the children in both Roberge and Woodside Elementary Schools each created unique pinwheels emphasizing cooperation, and treating each other with respect. A personal interview with Meryl Wolf gave this author insight into the necessity of educating young children to the need of respecting and honoring each others' differences, making the world a better for everyone to live, and to appreciate each others' unique qualities. Ms. Wolf said that her students' wishes for "Whirled Peace" was spread throughout the township of River Vale. Accolades to Meryl Wolf for her ability to drive home such an important message and create a unique and vital learning experience for the students in River Vale.
