This is the third edition of the ActiveRain week in review where we'll highlight some of the most discussed topics and blog posts made during the last week.  You can find an archive of the past week in reviews here.  Feel free to repost the ActiveRain week in review on your non ActiveRain blog.

Reminder: If you want to get some additional exposure, submit your best blog post to the weekly Carnival of Real Estate today.

Mortgage Blog Wars:

This week saw a major "blog war" among a number of ActiveRain members in the mortgage industry.  Blogging is a great way to share dissenting opinions in a public environment and Mary McKnight has pointed out, can be a great way to increase traffic through controversy, as long as it doesn't become too personal.  It all started with Jeff Corbett's aptly named blog post The Morgage Industry's Internal Civil War where he shared some of his often controversial views on the morgage industry and registered almost 120 comments.  Over the next week there week there was salvo apon salvo of well written rebuttles fired off by a number of mortgage brokers on ActiveRain.

NAR Wrap-Up Posts:

The big NAR conference in New Orleans also ended early this week, so ActiveRain featured a number of very good blog posts summarizing the conference by members who where there.

Real Estate "Technology" Companies:

Great Consumer Content:

As we've mentioned previously we are doing a lot of work in positioning content on ActiveRain to begin to draw buyers/sellers into the mix.

* Again I could have just kept this list going but just stopped when I had added about 10 posts...

Most Discussed Posts (not already mentioned)

These are some of the posts that had the most active discussions both in terms of comments and spinning off other related posts.

Great Posts from New Faces:

Some highlighted posts from members who just recently started blogging on ActiveRain.

And that wraps up in the week in review.  There are a TON of great posts that didn't get mentioned, and on many of this lists I just stopped adding posts after I got 5 or 6 of them.  So if you didn't get a mention we'll probably catch you next week.

Once again, you did a great job highlighting the interesting blogs.  There are so many, even if you don't list all the best, this gives us a great starting point. Thanks!

Matt:

This was absolutely a week of sleep deprivation, research, and deep thought about the future of mortgage brokerage for me.  The process of the mortgage blog war really made me examine my position as a mortgage originator.  I'm even more firmly rooted in my beliefs now than I was last week.

The opportunity to learn from so many different contributors proves to be the single best benefit from blogging.

Thanks for the review Matt and for the mention, didn't think anyone read those local content posts.  It's a new week tomorrow, have a good one everyone!

Thanks for your time in putting this together. It's so easy to fall into just reading and commenting on those who are familiar to us. By highlighting some of the new faces you're helping us to continue expanding our networks.

Thanks Matt,

Every time you post this I find another blog gem I had missed. The number of great posts just keeps increasing. The social network part of things is fascinating to watch.

Your ActiveRain Week in Review is a great addition. It's so easy to miss some great posts because we're busy one day, there are a lot of posts that day, etc. and when we shut off for the day, that's generally the end of it - the next day we start with that day's posts.

The local post links are appreciated -

Matt,

Many thanks for the mention of my "Old Schools - New Life" post.  I had fun putting that together, and am glad others have enjoyed it as well.  And how cool to be mentioned!!

I, too, like having the "New Faces" up there!  I enjoy getting to read as many posts as time allows, and this is a great way to find those posts I might have missed.

Thanks!
Ann Cummings

That's funny - I made the week in review last year - I wanted to see what was posted a year ago and now this year I'm doing the post...

I've only seen two posts on NAR and the Activerain get together this year so I've included one for this week's Week In Review.
