The Suicide: Longstreet Theatre at USC
Friday February 18, 2011 - Saturday February 26, 2011 Theatre South Carolina will present the once-banned and rarely-performed Russian farce The Suicide as the third in its main stage series February 18-26 at Longstreet Theatre. The farcical play takes us into the downtrodden existence of Semyon, an out-of-work tubist at the end of his proverbial rope. When his wife confides to a neighbor that he may be considering suicide (he isn’t), interested locals, each representing a different facet of society (the intelligentsia, the bourgeoisie, et al.) begin trying to make him a martyr for their own pet causes. Columbia's Longest Days
Saturday February 19, 2011 The Greater Columbia Civil War Alliance in conjunction with the South Carolina State Museum and the Confederate Relic Room will be hosting its annual event, Columbia's Longest Days. This event is in commemoration of General Sherman's March to Columbia, SC, and the burning of the city in February of 1865 with a reenactment of the firing on Columbia and a Civil War expo. Skate and Create: Columbia Museum of Art Community Gallery
Wednesday February 23. 2011 - April 24, 2011 Skate and Create displays artwork and skateboards altered with unique and original art created by a variety of artists, skate enthusiasts and skaters.
