I remember Lake Livingston but not Riverside TX. I used to live in Houston TX. Lake Livingston was very pretty if I remember correctly.
Hi Jon: Lake Livingston is in 4 counties: Polk, San Jacinto, Walker and Trinity. Riverside (Population 425) is in the northern end of Walker County. 7 miles from Trinity and 8 miles from the San Jacinto County Line. It would be very easy not to know where we are! :OD
I love it. The signs.....even with the bullet holse make the narrow winding road all that more treacherous!
Joni~ Amazing how powerful a few words and a photo...good post!
Good morning Joni,
Your photo is stunning and I love the road signs..I checked back at the sign after Larry's comments..it does look like bullet holes!
Joni ~ Now, that's an equalizer to the mind and the heart -- nice way to approach the day.
What a great way to start my day. Or end it. Or just survive it!
Joni, I love the Gospels. My particular favs are the parables, especially the parable of the wheat and tares.
I can't read this scripture anymore without that scene from Facing the Giants popping into my head. "Wide left and wide right ain't going to to get it done. It's gotta be down the middle... my momma can kick it wide left and wide right!" and then uses this scripture to emphasize his point. Great pic!
One does need to prepare to travel down that road :)
Joni...I'm thinking I could walk that stretch of road quicker than I could drive it! I would hope to have someone along beside me since I don't know what kind of wildlife you have in the area!
