Friday's Fotos ~ Early Songs of Spring...
I'm not one to wish my life away but I'm counting the days to when I can say "BUH-Bye" to Old Man Winter for awhile. The unusually warm days we have been treated to here in the middle Tennessee area has me thinking about the first harbingers of spring - Crocus and Daffodils.

I am already starting to see their green heads starting to break through the soil as they begin to wake from their long winter's slumber. Soon, they will adorn their velvet gowns and perform their magical ballet as they bow and dance to the soft, gentle song that floats on the breeze. Joyful hearts and eyes will applaud and add to chorus. Nothing is sweeter to the soul than early songs of spring...

What beautiful flowers.

Nothing has popped up here in Southern Texas...,We usually get Indian Paint Brushes and Blue Bonnets.

However, you can see tinnie tiny buds starting to appear at the very end of tree branches so it is not far away...and the song birds have arrived.

Mike,

We seem to be a couple weeks behind you. The only thing I see in the yard or the leaves that found their way in, and couldn't get out.

Michael - I'm not a huge Daffodil fan but I lovvvvve Crocuses.  We had the most beautiful weather here in the Sacramento area for a 2 weeks or more and I was afraid to enjoy it because I knew it was short lived and winter was not over for us.  I guess I thought it would make it easier when the bad weather returned but I was wrong.............    Happy Friday to you!

Nice photo Michael. We will also be ready to see some green, tired of looking at all the brown frozen plants and turf.

We had two terrifically frozen days in Tucson last week and it's amazing to drive around and see the damage.  Trees that were just starting to bud have lost everything.  "Evergreens" have dropped their 'green'. Citrus had fruit popsickles.  Prickly pear and barrell cactus just "flattened" to the ground.  It will be interesting to see the growth of spring venture forth again.  I love your brilliant photo.

Michael, we have no signs of spring just yet, except that yesterday I did see a fly buzzing around my office.

Michael, we don't have crocuses and tulips here :( but we are seeing signs of Spring here (don't laugh, even Florida has seasonal changes). I do miss the spring flowers up north. What a beautiful photo.
