Homes for sale in Barnegat averaged at about 287 in January, a sharp drop the the December, 2010 Barnegat Housing Market Report.

January 2011	52	18	46	13	131	$160,000

There were no homes that sold in Barnegat in January 2011 for over $250,000. Several sold units were Barnegat condos, bringing down the median price. There were four Barnegat adult community homes sold.

That's quite a change from January, 2010 when the highest priced home in Barnegat sold for $405,000.

Laura, the stats look pretty static with the exception of median sold price, which is down quite a bit.

Laura...prices & value-of are often so far apart aren't they. Condos usually skew the medium price when they are included in the single family home total; They are usually single family Homes that have 1 or more [floor-ceiling] common walls. condos are down around us; many not selling thus our Home sales volume & percentages are down. That is what needs to be rectified and soon.
As an aside, went on Zillow, clicked on Single family Homes for sale; clicked on our area of sales---was stunned to see the number of "Vacant Properties" --to be individual lots--added to the scene. Needless to say, home values were way low. That is Sad.

Mara-We love the Jersey Shore...the housing market here, not so much!

Barb-I know, people around here feel stuck because they want to move, and can't get what they paid even if they bought as far back as 2002!
