In about a month you can trade that shovel in for a rake.

Right now a sellers best tool for keeping up their curb appeal is a shovel. It is so important to keep the driveway and walks clear of snow and ice. But, in about a month that will change.

Yes Spring will come again! ;).

When the snow is gone you will still need to keep up with the curb appeal. The lawn may not be growing yet but there is still work to be done. Find that rake you put away last Fall and get busy. It's time for Spring clean up. There will be debris lying around from winter kill and those leaves your neighbors didn't get raked. So out you go to spruce up your yard.

Remember curb appeal is what draws the buyer out of the car and up to your front door. A well maintained property reassures buyers that you take care of your home.

There may not be flowers yet but tidy those flower beds. Edging them will get that grass that crept forward.

If you had evergreen boughs by the door, it is time to remove them. Try an artificial arrangement until the first planters come out with icicle pansies.

You can also wash away the winter dirt that has collected on those front windows, porch area or exterior lights.

If there is damage to the exterior paint, touch it up as soon as it is warm enough to apply paint.

Jump start Spring and get ahead of the competition.

Here in Madisonville, Texas, we've had another long raking season (i.e. just 1 snowfall). I need to get out and clean up those leaves and take care of some other yard maintenance tasks. Thanks for the great reminders! Very timely. :)

Great tips, Janice. Spring has come to Houston and I planned some garden work for this weekend.

Lucky you Anna! We are having a couple of Spring like days now but then they say we are headed back into the deep freeze.

Janice that day can't come fast enough. I'm really looking forward to getting out there in the yard and doing a bit of work. I'm sure a lot of homeowners are.

Malcolm, Thursday and Friday were such a tease and today we are back in the deep freeze. I'm sure many people have cabin fever about now.
