![]() | Looks like the Dallas Cowboys are having a great year. Tony Romo seems to be jiving his swing. Terrell Owens seems like he's a better team player this year. Barber and Jones are doing what they need to also.... So, I must say, AREN'T you proud of my Dallas Cowboys???? I just have to share this little proud moment of mine and my closest experience to the Dallas Cowboys... You see, in my previous life, I worked in Business Development for my company called Texas Wall Systems - an architectural aluminum framing company.... What does that mean? If you saw the high-rise glass buildings, my company manufactured the aluminum frames that hold the glass in place. (Oh, by the way, I project-managed the company website also)... When I first started with this company, fresh out of college, my boss - the owner hired me as a Structural Engineering Assistant. But through the years, he saw my gifts and talents in the Business Development area. He thought I was too gifted to keep my creativity and talents in just structural calculations. So, he created a department for me, Business Development. In that position - a one-man department, I helped the managers throughout the company..... I worked alot of Sales. |
| Like the Secretary to the President (THE BOSS), I constantly prepare presentations to assist in acquiring projects. I put together packages - each highly customized to the specific job in order to win the projects. Some we won, some we didn't. Projects for all over the country: Mandalay Bay, Bellagio (2nd Phase), MGM Grand, Marriott Grand Chateau, The Sky in Las Vegas, International Plaza and DFW Skywalk in Dallas are just some of the more prominent projects I was a part of. So, my biggest achievement by far (prior to my leaving) was the acquisition of the Dallas Cowboys New Stadium in Arlington Texas architectural aluminum project. This fine piece of real estate was just absolutely stunning to my memory. I put together the contents of the presentation, helped our client-vendor to sell US, why they needed to use US..... Normally, I do not get to go to these presentations but the one time I did, it was for this project...... Wow, it was just an amazing experience to see how my contents were proudly displayed for the General Contractor.... Nope, I didnt get to see Jerry Jones. |
| The Arlington Dallas Cowboys Stadium will open its doors in the 2009 Season. I do hope that when my company gets that Skybox, that I'd be invited back to watch the first HOME GAME.... Won't that be cool??? I just had to share a proud moment of my past life... | |
