Sweet Sweet Dog ~

It's been a long week in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, with one more day of showings for tomorrow. These will be the best of the homes for second looks. Let's end the week of showings with a nice soothing story rather than a Friday Funny ~
SWEET SWEET DOG ~

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.  I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of. He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out..

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.

This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like  to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3.
He's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'

That is funny.  We have "adopted" a few feral cats who come by, come right into the house and wait by the place where their bowl goes, and when they have eaten they stretch, wash themselves, and maybe they stay in for awhile, but most of the time they just go on out the cat door and curl up under a bush outside.  I

don't know whether they were born feral or if they were abandoned, but they definitely don't have a caring home. I can pet two of them but the others are too skittish.  Our own cats used to find these "guests" disturbing, but now they take it in stride.

The perfect story to end my long day.  I have a house filled with five cats who claimed our home as theirs..   And of course, one dog who probably wishes she could find a quiet corner in someone's home to nap....Along with me!  Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

Frank and Karen- What a sweet story to end the week that began with the Westminster Dog Show.  Your story reminded me of my first cat... who was the apartment stray.  He would be there waiting for me when I got home from work, and every morning when I left, I put him out.  I had no idea until months later that during the day, he went to his "daytime" family across the walk.

Very cute...we have been adopted by a cat who will not go away. She stays close and waits for Dan to come out and talk to her.
