Dale Earnhardt Remembered
It's hard to believe that America's Racing Hero has been gone this long! It's been ten years this weekend!
We bought my wife's Chevy Monte Carlo SS shortly after Dale Earnhardt had autographed the dash with a paint pen during a visit to the Northwest.
At the time, it was a novelty, but now with almost 30,000 miles, the signature is perfectly preserved, and a daily reminder of the legend himself.

It is difficult to believe it was ten years ago. Seems like just yesterday we heard this awful news.
It' so shard to believe it's been 3 years. I'll definitely be watching the Daytona 500 this Sunday and I look froward to the tribute to
Dale Earnhardt on the 3rd lap.

Early this am.while listening to sports talk radio they were talking about 10 year mark. I'll be watching the 500 myself, sounds like it will be an interesting one from all I've heard.

Sitting here watching 'The Day' on SPEED. I wan't a big fan of Earnhardt, but had the utmost respect for him. Was a fan back when Bobby, Donnie, Cale, Richard were the big names. Became a huge fan of Davey Allison, then the 28 and 88 (Irvan and Jarrett days)
Another interesting stat is, only 13 drivers that were in the 2001 race are in the race Sunday. And looking at Stewart's wreck, it's a wonder he walked away.
How about this 'new' racing at Daytona? I've taken in most everything I can this week and it just doesn't seem right, but I can't put my finger on it.
Gosh, an autographed car....by the foremost driver. Cool!
Ten years? Impossible.
My gosh I remeber that, I saw it (on TV as it happened). it was amazing, I was in Sears looking to purchase a new TV ( Back then they were not flat screens, like today). Wow I can see the crash in my head right now!
