The LOUDS Move In!

By: Carolyn Crimi

Once in awhile you run across the story that brings out the best in your children. This book Louds move inbrought on giggles from my boys that I didn't expect. They laughed so much the first time through that they immediately asked me to start over and read it again.... so I did. I didn't understand why they found it so funny, but the second time around they almost had me chuckling along with them.

This is NOT necessarily a book for children moving into a home... though it may be a good one if the child feels like they are going to be an "outsider" in the neighborhood.

The Louds in this book are just as you'd expect. Loud... in a quiet neighborhood. It's a wonderful story about how a family makes it's way into a home and an area that it doesn't seem to fit in. Over time they not only alienate the neighbors BUT also find their way into their hearts.

It ends beautifully with the neighbors celebrating with them.

Maybe the thing that made me really think is that we cannot pick our neighbors. We always have a chance of ending up next to someone that is "different" from us. But, no matter who it is or how "different" they are there is something to be appreciated about them... they are neighbors after all.

It's really probably best read with voice inflections as the words show on the page. I truly think that it was the emotion behind the words that brings out the humor. No matter.... I'm sure that I'll be reading that one again to my little ones.

This book gets a 10 on my radar for cuteness. It's just a good read!

This could be too much work but you should also create a website dedicated to childrens book reviews!

I probably should Chuck. If I reviewed every book that the kids and I read I'd be reviewing 50 books every three weeks... or so. :) It would be fun though!
