I was mentioning to a fellow ActiveRain Member:  http://activerain.com/mets Jeffrey DiMuria in response to his blog, that I had a SOCIAL MEDIA 101 at our WCR Luncheon and was asked a few questions...

  1. Do you have an iPad
  2. Do you know what a QR code is?
  3. Are you on Facebook & Twitter?
  4. Do you have a google profile?
  5. Do you blog?

My answer was, "YES, YES, YES, YES, YES".  That would be "Yes" to all. So, I showed my iPad, they could verify my Facebook, Twitter and google profile if they wanted to do so on the spot and I had a printed Newsletter that had my QR code in my leather notedbook~ (Title gave me ;) ) and the President of our WCR South Orange County~ already noticed that I added her as an Associate and knew I was already on AR blogging.... Therefore, I felt like I knew a thing or two. I am ePro certified and I got certified I believe in '05, no social media was not HUGE back then, but I liked to IM everyone, add my friends, clients, etc.... I am surprised I am not the one who founded these amazing sites...

Nonetheless, back to QR codes... I really believe that everyone gets tired of holding on to 100 business cards after conventions, looking up or adding data. I honestly believe everyone is trying to go paperless... That's just my opinion.

Regardless, everyone talks about QR codes, but don't know much.... Well, here it is a FREE site where you can create in two minutes or less, your own QR CODE~.

Sounds like you are very on top of things.  Good for you.  I have a QR code, but still need to leverage.  I'm waiting for a couple of months until I get my mobile site so it will be more relevant.

Hi Lauren - thanks for the helpful info.  I just started thinking about using QR codes recently and the link you provided will be helpful.  Sounds like you have been ahead of the curve on a lot of the technology.  I was out shopping for an iPad today and trying to decide which one to go with........any suggestions?

Debbie~ that would be good timing... ;) Sometimes, we are not sure where to place or when to do, but when you have a plan and know when to implement... is good... I think just staying in front of technology is key**

hey tony~thanks... i try ;) my personal opinion is the iPad 64GB with wiFI & 3G only $100 more than no 3G~ because you don't have to have just have wi-FI, worth the extra service and dollars per month~ I got it when it was about 1k, but they are about $850- now. get it through apple~ they put a personal engraving for you ;)

Hey Lauren, nice deal to go speak. I do a tech session every week for our realtors, sometimes on twitter, sometimes on blogging or video. It's amazing how much stuff is out there. And I can answer all of those with a yes as well - ok - except the ipad thing... Now can you write a blog post and tell me your business case for using it?

well, Terkel, the iPad is like a giant iPhone... basically... does the same.. it's just easy to have the aps in a large version of what you can use and basically have a live presentation when you need to as well. Also, look up properties on the spot and show clients... Especially, if something is missed when you were printing reports. Have you ever gone out to show property and you are passing by a property and the client says, "Can I see this property?"     Well, I don't know... Let me see the showing instructions real quick... To name a couple... It's quite handy! ;)

LOL Lauren, I was discussing the Christmas gift with my husband, and a few days later there was the announcement about the iPad 2.  There might be a couple more versions by the time Christmas comes.  I think they really have us figured out.  lol
