This long and winding road in Bowie, TX is waiting for developers.
Hello Patricia and Vegas Bob likes long and winding roads, and it's a great song performed by The Beatles! Did Bowie Texas get it's name from the Bowie Knife, etc.?
Vegas Bob ;o)
Vegas Bob,
I love that song by the Beatles, it's one of my favorites! Jim Bowie was a soldier during the Texas Revolution and he died at the Battle of the Alamo. He was born in Kentucky, lived in LA and died a hero in Texas. Yes! you are correct! the Bowie Knife is named after him because he killed a sheriff. I don't know any more about the history of the knife but what an interesting man, none-the-less!
Patricia....let there be a road and water and they will come! Nice shot!
Hope you have a great day!---Rob
Steve,
That's interesting to know that this road looks like the deserts in CA. The water is called Silver Lakes.
Patricia,
All set with its own lake and everything. Will be pretty. :)
Steve
Patricia- keep those Texas photos coming!!!!! This displaced Houstonian needs to see them.
Patricia, I expect when developers do come we will see a totally different picture.
Neat! It looks as if two vehicles went off the road already at about 5:00 in the picture, so count out that particular piece for us. It looks relaxing and calm as the road meanders through and around.

Steve,
I sure hope so! It definitely has potential and I hope that whatever is built there, is built for all the right intentions and puposes.
Kathy,
I will pray for you and all displaced people. Home is where the heart is, follow your heart.
Marchel,
I'm afraid you're right. This picture will look totally different once they start excavating. I just wish it was mandatory for developers to designate a wildlife sanctuary before they begin a new project for a development.
Jacque and Larry,
Oh yes! The 5:00 location looks perfect! I'll reserve that spot for you!
I found the contrast interesting between the brown flora with the lake so close - seems like there should've been more green.
Juli,
I think once the rains start there will be lots of green. It's just a matter of time. You make a good point about the brown flora and the lake. I'll be curious to see how the landscape changes in the spring.
Steve,
My goodness! You made my day! Thank you!
Now I'm off to walk the winding trails in my neighborhood. Thanks again. I greatly appreciate this feature so much!
